A client-side opportunity exists for a hands-on Quality Inspector/Clerk of works to oversee, in particular, piling operations on a large reinforced concrete project. An above average knowledge of concrete is sought, which must include slump test, cube test, pre and post pour inspections and recording. This tier one professional Project Management company will also consider candidates seeking Temp-to-Perm opportunities. Additional duties may include the following – Ensuring the works are constructed in accordance with the design and specifications. Championing the company’s Health and Safety standards. Overseeing the delivery of nominated subcontractors. Approval of materials and products. Identify and highlight any anomalies. Check risk assessments and method statements. Attend progress meetings and report on progress. Requirements for this opportunity include – Extensive experience and knowledge on the testing of concrete on civil engineering projects. Preferably a civil engineering qualification. Meticulous in recording and reporting of work done. Computer literate and able to use IT in the workplace. The ability to foresee potential issues and to intervene/escalate timeously to avoid delays, reworks and extra costs.
