The Opportunity
We now have an excellent new opportunity for a Head of Transport. Internally known as the Logistics Lead - North, you'll take full ownership of shaping strategy and leading our logistics teams from the Midlands and into Scotland. As the Logistics Lead - North, you'll take ownership of our tipper road logistics operations across the Midlands and North. You'll need to be mobile, as you'll travel across the Midlands and North of the UK to visit our operational and planning offices within the region. This is a key position within our business - one that will see you working closely with Regional Directors and General Managers to deliver strategic projects, improve efficiencies, and lead the long-term development of logistics across a complex, fast-moving network.
You'll bring together planning, people leadership and performance improvement to make a real impact - not just on our day-to-day operations, but on the sustainability, safety, and future direction of our logistics strategy. In this is a varied and high-impact role where you'll lead on:
- Implementing and embedding strategic logistics initiatives.
- Driving adoption of Transport Management Systems and backhauling efficiencies.
- Leading and developing teams within a matrix environment.
- Improving fleet performance and operational processes.
- Supporting safety, compliance and sustainability goals.

- Experienced within the logistics or transport operations sector at a senior level.
- Led planning functions and understand the S&OP process inside out.
- Delivered strategic projects that have improved efficiency, cost-effectiveness, or service levels.
