A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established business known for its dedication to local projects, use of local suppliers, and strong focus on employee wellbeing. As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of projects across various sectors, including Education, Commercial, Retail, Leisure, and Healthcare, involving both new builds and refurbishments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding client requirements
  • Researching and gathering quotes
  • Monitoring project costs from inception through to completion
  • Initiating and managing projects with efficient procedures
  • Procuring materials and managing off-site services
  • Assisting with work package development alongside the project team
  • Issuing and evaluating subcontractor tender invitations
  • Ensuring positive cash flow through timely valuations, invoicing, and collections
  • Supporting the resolution of final accounts, including variations and disputes
  • Contributing to cost-value reconciliations and forecasts
  • Reviewing tender inquiries for accuracy and completeness
  • Managing supply chain communications and documentation
  • Analysing costs and preparing detailed price submissions
  • Monitoring bid progress and aligning budgets with project forecasts

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar estimating role
  • Proven background in Design & Build (D&B) projects
  • Strong track record in construction estimating
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly numerate with strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficient in IT and relevant estimating software
  • Full, valid driving licence
