At Ravensbourne we are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator on a part-time basis to provide expertise in teaching, learning, and administration, supporting the continuous development of our interiors and architecture courses.
Reporting to the Course Leader of the BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Reuse you will provide module leadership and work effectively within the Department of Architecture team. You will deliver design studio teaching and technical skills at undergraduate level and support the teaching on postgraduate courses.
Your teaching will be focused on the reinvention and reuse of existing buildings and spaces, underpinned by innovative, sustainable and ethical approaches, as well as a commitment to working with communities to shape all stages of the design process. You will set creative agendas focused on spatial practices for current critical debates, whilst enhancing student’s communication, representation and professional skills. You will also participate in cross-disciplinary activities and knowledge exchange to enhance the collaborative approach at Ravensbourne.

Our globally unique course is validated under ARB and RIBA Part 1 criteria adhering to the same high standards as our BA (Hons) Architecture programme. Our focus is on repurposing existing buildings and the course is embedded in a department which collaborates across architecture, interior architecture, and landscape architecture.
You have:
- Experience within interior architecture education at HE level and creative pedagogy to support students in developing projects that reflect current, critical debates in the profession, the duties of the interior architect and climate literacy.
- A comprehensive knowledge of ARB and RIBA requirements at Parts 1, 2, and 3 in UK schools of architecture.
- Professional knowledge and practice experience of interior architecture and spatial design, including a strong understanding of construction, material, structural, environmental technologies, and user comfort within design.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to engage students directly with their chosen industry.
- HEA accreditation or a PGCE (or willingness to work towards this).
- A clear knowledge and understanding of current architectural design practices and a keen interest in innovative and emerging technologies in the profession.
- Worked across virtual learning environments and associated teaching methodologies, and can develop and apply innovative teaching methods using a variety of different resources/materials.
