A client of ours in the Halstead area are recruiting an Engineering Procurement Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm and paying £27,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.

While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.

Supporting a team of 3, key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Purchase of consumables and tooling.
  • Maintain database on prices and lead times.
  • Securing orders with suppliers.
  • General department administration.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders providing updates.
  • Manage and improve non-conformances.
  • Consulting with Design team and QA team to assist in value engineering.

Skills and Experience required to be considered for this position:

  • Strong negotiator with excellent telephone skills.
  • Experience within purchasing and procurement within the engineering or manufacturing industry.
  • Someone with a history and understanding of fabrications and heavy manufacturing.
  • Proficient within the Microsoft packages (Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability/understanding to read CAD drawings.
  • Highly organised.
