Contract Opportunity – Technical Architect (Cloud Migration) x2 | Defence | Outside IR35 | Remote + Travel

We’re working with a leading organisation in the Defence sector currently mobilising a major Obsolescence Programme as part of ongoing BAU and Datacentre Exit initiatives. As such, we’re seeking 2x experienced Technical Architects to join a high-impact squad focused on accelerating the assessment, treatment planning, design, and migration of legacy workloads to Azure.

Your Role

As a Technical Architect, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the cloud migration journey. You’ll assess infrastructure systems (not just business apps), make rapid treatment decisions, and lead on the technical strategy for decommissioning and Azure migration.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in Datacentre Exit & Obsolescence Programmes
  • Strong background in Technical Infrastructure Services, IT4IT focus (not just business applications)
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure, application, and security architecture
  • Experience using the 7R’s framework for discovery and assessment
  • Effective in engaging and leading meetings with stakeholders/app owners
  • Comfortable reverse engineering architectures to inform cloud migration plans
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure and cloud architectures
  • Able to operate at speed and under pressure to meet critical deadlines

Location: Remote (with some travel required)

Contract Term: ASAP start – through to end of 2025 (high likelihood of extension into 2026)
