Private Banking Assistant (Arabic speaker)
Location: Central London.
Job purpose
Support Private Banking Relationship Managers with day‑to‑day activities: account opening, amendments, closing, debit cards/internet banking, AML, and credit tasks.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Account opening: prepare opening packs, perform WorldChecks, risk assessments (personal and corporate), adverse media checks, and email/post welcome letters.
- Handle client relationship transfers between Retail and Private Banking.
- Debit cards: ensure timely ordering, activation, cancellation, and manage fraud investigations & refunds.
- Internet banking: register customers, activate accounts, unblock access, and answer related queries.
- Credit: prepare and follow up on Customer Information Sheets, produce risk modelling templates for credit applications.
- Communicate to customers on fund status and other pertinent information.
- Maintain customer confidentiality and secure documentation/communications.
- Adhere to bank policies such as Private Banking SOPs and Financial Crime policies.
- Perform duties with reasonable skill and diligence.
- Collaborate with relationship managers on ad‑hoc client and bank tasks.
Qualification & Experience
- University degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Up to 3 years of banking experience.
- Sound knowledge of financial markets, bank products, systems, services, and procedures.
- Good understanding of cultural sensitivities and issues.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and comprehensive understanding of Middle East culture and mentality.
