GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physical Education Teacher to join our team in Sheffield. This is a full-time role, ideal for a dynamic educator who can encourage students to develop their physical skills, teamwork, and confidence through engaging and structured PE lessons.

We are looking for someone who can create a positive and active learning environment, catering to students of all abilities. If you have a passion for sports, health, and well-being and can inspire students to stay active and enjoy physical education, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons suited to students of all fitness levels and abilities.
  • Encourage participation in a variety of sports and physical activities to promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters teamwork, discipline, and confidence.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  • Organise and supervise extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and school events.
  • Motivate students to develop their physical skills, resilience, and love for sport.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s physical education programme.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed during lessons and activities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a degree in Physical Education or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level (KS3 & KS4, KS5 desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of various sports, fitness training, and health education.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Passion for teaching and promoting physical activity.
  • Adaptable and creative in lesson delivery to engage all students.
  • Strong communication skills for working with students, staff, and parents.
  • A full and up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
