Alderley Group is an award-winning, rapidly expanding UK development company specialising in sourcing land for new-build affordable housing schemes. Our in-house construction team, Alderley Partnerships, operates under JCT D&B contracts, delivering high-quality projects across England.
We are seeking a Senior Site Manager to join our team within Alderley Group and Alderley Partnerships, based in Warrington. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of our construction projects. Due to the nature of this role, we are only accepting applications living locally, or within travelling proximity, of the North West of England. As a Senior Site Manager you will play a crucial role in the practical aspects of our construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Health, Safety & Environment: Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy ‘Roles and Responsibilities’ and ensure compliance from the site team. Carry out daily/weekly site inspections. Continuously manage the HS&E on the site. Ensure that all relevant HS&E paperwork and inspections are completed fully and on time. Accompany the HS&E inspector on their site inspections. Ensure that the Construction Phase Health, Safety & Environment Plan (CPHSEP) and the Compliance Register are up to date.
- Leadership: Motivate, support and guide the site team. Recognise and encourage excellent performance. Ensure that sub-standard performance is identified and remedied early via training, support (improvement plans) or disciplinary action as appropriate. Carry out annual appraisals where necessary. Create and manage a two week programme and communicate to the Assistant Site Manager and Trainee Site Assistant along with sub-contractors. Ensure all materials are called off in a timely manner. Co-ordinate sub-contractors and utility companies. Ensure that progress recording is up to date. Build good working relationships with: Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), sub-contractors, site representatives, the Housing Association (HA), National House Building Council / Local Authority Building Control, suppliers, service / utility companies. Also ensure working relationships are maintained with: consultants, Health & Safety Executive (HSE), the local authority (LA), Environment Agency (EA).
- Finishing: Manage all trades in ensuring properties are finished to the highest standards. Manage the maintenance of completed sites, including making good and final cleaning.
What You’ll Need:
- Experience: Previous experience in building, construction, or maintenance roles.
- Skills: Ability to read and understand simple construction drawings, follow instructions, and carry out tasks reliably and effectively.
- Certifications: CSCS Card, SMSTS.
- Transport: Own transport to and from sites is essential for this role.
