Monday to Friday on site – Flexibility Needed Competitive Salary and Benefits Gunstones Bakery are currently recruiting for an experienced and driven Factory Manager to lead our operational teams during a period of growth and development. About Us: When you join 2 Sisters, you will become part of one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers, with an annual turnover of £3billion+, employing 13,000 across 16 sites. Gunstones Bakery is a key part of our Meals Solutions division, employing around 700 people and producing a range of high-quality products with major retailers. About the Role: As Bakery Factory Manager you will report into the Site Manufacturing Lead and be an integral part of the leadership team that is responsible and accountable for the day to day running of this high-volume site. We operate 24/7 with 4 shifts with more than 100 team members on each shift, therefore, experience of leading high-volume teams will be essential in this role. You will work closely with management teams to develop and upskill colleagues, supporting their personal and professional development and ensuring the best results possible. You will be commercially aware and look to make improvements on the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow. You will lead on projects and deliver the introduction of new equipment ensuring all critical paths are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. As the Bakery Factory Manager, you will also drive continuous improvement across the site by monitoring and developing key areas around Quality and Lean Manufacturing, Health, Safety and Environmental issues and overall site compliance. The position will be key in supporting proper Quality and Technical practices and audits so previous experience in these areas will be needed. About You: To excel in this Bakery Factory Manager role, you will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of upskilling manufacturing teams and delivering strong performance whilst also identifying ways to improve practices and raise standards. You will understand the demands and pace of the Food Manufacturing sector, ideally within bakery or chilled environments, and have the drive and passion needed to support a growing and busy site. Ideally your application will display: Demonstrable experience as a Factory Manager within a Food Manufacturing environment. Evidence of the experience to deliver change management and performance improvement programmes in a challenging high-pressure environment. Food Safety – Level 4 HACCP, High Food Hygiene (desirable) Quality / Lean – Black Belt, Consumer value (desirable) The desire to drive cultural change. Operational excellence experience. Self-motivated and highly resilient. Strong Financial awareness, highly numerate. Leads by example. The ability to make tough people decisions. The skills to build effective cross-functional relationships. The drive and determination to achieve beyond the minimum, always wanting the best, pushes themselves and others forward.
