Our client, a Kent based Fintech lender is looking to appoint a Data Protection Manager. This individual will have led or supported data protection/privacy projects and be comfortable implementing policy. The Data Protection Manager will ensure the firm complies with the Data Protection Act by monitoring internal data and compliance practices.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Being the primary point of contact for data protection related matters
- Developing, monitoring and maintaining policies
- Reviewing projects to ensure compliance with data privacy laws
- Conducting reviews and reporting on data privacy compliance within the firm
- Data breach and security incident management
- Keeping up to date with changes in Data Protection laws
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to promote excellent data privacy across the firm
- Delivering privacy training
You will need:
- A minimum of 4 years' experience within privacy and data protection compliance
- Previous experience as a Data Protection Manager would be desirable
- Expert knowledge of Data Protection Law and practices
- A data protection or privacy certification
- Excellent project management skills
- The confidence to identify and raise issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative
- To be able drive to their office in Kent several times a week
