Our Client is seeking an Ecologist with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience for a one year contract position, with potential for longer term.

REPORTING TO: Principal Ecologist or Environment and Planning Manager

WORK BASE: Bath, with travel to projects/sites across the region.

Working for the Environment and Planning team, which includes the Ecology Team, providing a wide range of environmental support to engineering and construction colleagues.

You will deliver a range of services including ecological survey and ecological impact assessments. The ecology team supports a diverse range of projects and enjoys the satisfaction of working on projects from outline design through to completion, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company environmental policy in the development of assets.

Requirements:

  • Competent in UKHab and protected species appraisal surveys (badgers, bats, reptiles, water voles, etc.)
  • Great Crested Newt survey licence preferable
  • Good ecological report writing skills
  • Clean driving licence and access to own transport essential
  • A pro-active and flexible approach with a focus on successful project delivery
  • Good IT skills and experience of GIS systems
