Mobile HGV Technician, focusing primarily on Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI). In this field-based role, you’ll ensure that HGVs and specialist vehicles remain in top condition by conducting regular inspections and maintenance. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals.
Location: Field-based (Buckinghamshire)
Salary: £19 - £22 per hour, overtime available

What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct Periodic Maintenance Inspections (PMI) on HGVs and specialist vehicles to ensure they meet compliance and safety standards.
- Perform routine inspections and minor repairs to maintain the optimal condition of vehicles.
- Identify any maintenance issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures during all tasks.
- Work independently as this is a fully field-based role with no workshop on-site.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential:
- HGV City & Guilds or an equivalent qualification (or ability to demonstrate an equivalent skill level).
- HGV Driving Licence.
- Solid knowledge of HGV MOT laws and requirements.
- Experience conducting PMIs and minor repairs.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of Health and Safety laws.
- Customer-focused approach with a professional attitude.
Desirable:
- IRTEC accreditation.
- Experience with Suction Excavators, sweepers, Hotbox, or crash cushion vehicles.
- Winter Maintenance experience or certification.
