Are you a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner looking for a rewarding locum role in South East London? We have an exciting opportunity with great pay and flexibility!

Location: South East London

Duration: 3 months

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM

Start Date: ASAP

Rate of Pay: £30 per hour (umbrella)

Must Hold: A valid full UK driver’s license

What You’ll Be Doing:

Join our team as a Mental Health Practitioner and play a key role in supporting individuals within a leading drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. In this role, you will:

  • Assess clients' mental health and substance use to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement personalised care plans, using evidence-based approaches.
  • Provide one-on-one counselling, therapy, and crisis intervention services.
  • Support clients in managing cravings, building coping strategies, and working towards recovery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, doctors, and addiction specialists.
  • Educate and support clients' families, promoting awareness of substance use and mental health.
  • Work on prevention and outreach programs within the community.

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current and valid registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council).
  • Proven experience working within a drug and alcohol service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Experience in Crisis Teams or Psychiatric Liaison settings.

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a full-time locum position, requiring availability Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM. The contract is initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
