Panel Beater & Paint Sprayer – Automotive – Watford, Hertfordshire Location: Watford, Hertfordshire Salary: £45,000 to £90,000 basic, with an annual company performance bonus of £10,000-£30,000 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week with flexible start times (6:00 am to 7:00 pm), overtime available Benefits: Unlimited bonus scheme, company social events, pension, and standard benefits package Our client is a leading UK organisation renowned for vehicle repair and refurbishment services. Specialising in high-quality bodywork and accident repairs, they cater to a diverse range of vehicles, including cars, vans, and taxis. They are currently hiring for two distinct roles : Panel Beater and Paint Sprayer. Role 1: Panel Beater Key Responsibilities: Assess vehicle panel damage and provide accurate repair estimates. Remove, repair, and replace damaged panels to factory standards. Realign chassis and body frames using specialist tools and equipment. Perform surface preparation, including sanding and filling, to ensure a smooth finish for refinishing. Use various tools and welding equipment to complete repairs. Maintain a clean and organised workspace while adhering to safety regulations. Role 2: Paint Sprayer Key Responsibilities: Prepare vehicles for painting, either manually or with machinery. Mix and match paint accurately, using visual inspection or computerised technology. Apply primer and finishing coats with spray guns, ensuring a flawless finish through sanding and polishing between coats. Perform touch-ups and address imperfections for a high-quality result. Apply rust-proofing treatments and operate spray booths effectively. Qualifications and Skills For Both Roles: Experience: At least 2 years in vehicle body repair, panel beating, or paint spraying. Familiarity with modern materials, such as aluminium and composites. Proficiency in using body shop tools and equipment (e.g., MIG/TIG welding). Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Body Repair (desirable). ATA accreditation (preferred). A valid UK driving licence. Key Skills: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure top-quality results. Knowledge of health and safety standards and proper PPE use. Teamwork and communication abilities. Additional Skills (Panel Beater): Expertise in chassis straightening and diagnostic software is an advantage. Additional Skills (Paint Sprayer): Strong knowledge of paint preparation, mixing, and application techniques.
