Healthcare and Community Construction is a main contractor based in Fordingbridge, Hampshire which specialises in the delivery of Healthcare buildings and Social Housing. Established in 2003, HCC has completed over 650,000 square feet of development to date, with a multiphase project currently on site consisting of over 100,000 square feet and over 70,000 square feet in the pipeline. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team at an established company with a track record that speaks for itself.

As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of our projects. You’ll work closely with site managers, clients, subcontractors, and our internal development and design teams. You’ll need to be confident working independently and have a hands-on approach to your work. As part of this role, travel to our live sites will be essential. With our latest projects being located in East Anglia, we also deliver schemes in the Midlands and Southeast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and payments
  • Track project variations and maintain cost control throughout the build
  • Prepare monthly valuations, variations, costs and final accounts
  • Conduct site visits and liaise with on-site teams to ensure works are delivered within budget
  • Collaborate with client personnel and consultants
  • Contribute to value engineering and design development where required
  • Support the company’s growth by working flexibly across multiple live sites

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, ideally with housing or healthcare projects
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning, tendering, contracts, and post-contract procedures
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to travel regularly to live sites across our key regions
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Relevant and applicable qualifications
