Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC grinding machines to tight tolerances, ensuring components meet exacting quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set and operate Fanuc controlled lathes
- Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances and surface finishes.
- Perform in-process inspection using a variety of measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, bore gauges, surface finish testers).
- Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standard and within specified timescales.
- Perform machine maintenance and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Work closely with engineering and quality departments to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
- Record production data and complete relevant documentation accurately.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes in a precision engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of grinding processes including cylindrical, internal, and surface grinding.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Flexibility to work shifts if required.
Desirable:
- Experience in motorsport, aerospace, or high-performance automotive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing.
