We are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to work in our busy Belvedere Transport office located in South East London. We are looking for someone who is driven, focused, customer orientated as well as commercially and industry aware. A good geographical knowledge is essential along with previous experience of multi drop distribution. Experience in compliance and FORS is mandatory.
You must have excellent communication and negotiating skills. Previous experience as a Transport Supervisor is essential and Lorry Loader experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic transport team helping to take the business forward and promote organic growth furthering their own career along the way. They would be expected to communicate with a wide and diverse group of stakeholders essential to the smooth running of the business. A hands-on approach is a must to work alongside our drivers; therefore, experience in a similar field is essential for this role.
Our ideal candidate must be of strong character and be able to work independently and as a key part of our existing transport team. Attention to detail, with strong planning and organisational skills is a must along with excellent time and work management. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can adapt quickly to change, someone who is proactive and self-motivated who can work under pressure whilst producing work of a high standard.
The role will involve allocating work for 25 commercial vehicles of varying size as well as a small fleet of company cars. This would include briefing and de-briefing of drivers, assisting with the raising of purchase orders, record keeping and occasional assistance in disciplinary procedures.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Being the first point of contact with all drivers and liaising with Head office when necessary
- Promoting positive HSE culture
- Managing investigations into any operational incidents
- Monitoring vehicle defects and driver infringements
- Keeping a clean and well-maintained fleet and monitoring driver standards
- Liaising with warehouse/production operations managers
- Overseeing administrative responsibilities of the department, rotas, disciplinaries, holidays, absenteeism, recruitment etc.
