The company are a leading stockholder and processor of strip steel metal - they are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician for their operations in the Dudley area.

The main responsibility for the site engineer role is you will be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery in the plant to ensure smooth production and enable production targets are met.

Salary is up to £40k and benefits are:

Duties:

  • Carry out maintenance and preventative maintenance on production and plant machinery.
  • Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
  • Carry out mechanical and some electrical repairs.
  • Carry out inspection of plant and equipment as required.
  • Maintain maintenance schedule to include improvements and modifications.
  • Work alongside, supervise and co-ordinate sub-contractors.
  • Maintain stocks of spare parts.

Key skills for this role are as follows:

  • Multi skilled both mechanically and electrically.
  • Previous maintenance experience within steel processing environment.
  • Experience of working on metal process machinery, such as presses, slitting machinery, decoilers, saws etc.
  • Knowledge of machining, lathes, milling, grinding etc.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous.
  • Able to use hand and power tools.
  • Able to read schematics / engineering drawings.

The shift is predominately a Days role (6am to 2pm) Monday to Friday - 1 week in 4 will be on a 12pm-10pm shift Monday to Thursday.

Salary is up to £40,000 per annum and overtime at premium rates is available.

The role is based in the Dudley area so is easily commutable from Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Kidderminster.
