We’re looking for full time, permanent Shunter drivers to join our team in Wakefield, junction 41 off of the M1, working on our site where we partner British Gypsum. You’ll be working a minimum of 50 hours per week, 2300-0700 Mon-Thurs and 2000-0500 Friday. (FLT experience would be desirable).
Pay, benefits and more:
- We’re looking to offer a salary of £15.86 per hour plus an additional £2.73 per hour for hours worked between 1800-0600.
- In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- You will be working with Plaster products both by hand and by FLT.
- Picking and assisting in loading goods in a safety conscious environment.
- Loading and strapping vehicles and shunting duties if you have previous experience.
- Effective use of MHE with on-going training available.
- Varied role could include but not limited to gatehouse duties, yard duties, H&S audits, inventory.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Previous experience in a similar position would be advantageous and previous shunting experience would also be desirable.
- You must have previous experience of Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
- You must have an in-date FLT Licence (R.T.I.T.B or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills.
- You must be a team player and able to move heavy products by hand if needed.
