If you're an experienced Project Engineer or Senior Design Engineer and you want to work on the development of thermal capital machinery for bakery systems at our brand-new thermal design centre, then come and join us at our offices near Greater Manchester. You'll take ownership of delivering bespoke industrial ovens and ancillary equipment to multiple food manufacturing sectors.
BASIC SALARY: up to £55,000 dependant on your relevant experience

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a small team of design engineering personnel on simultaneous projects.
- Creating project plans in line with business requirements and manage the design process against agreed plans.
- Engineering new machines, new concepts, or ongoing improvements/enhancements to existing designs - mechanically and thermally using SolidWorks and/or AUTOCAD Inventor.
- Create models and drawings from concept layout/sketches, producing accurate bills of materials.
- Collaborate with team members, sales, applications engineers, production & the controls engineering team to achieve a complete engineered solution.
- Producing drawing packs to a standard acceptable for production.
- Working within the Safety of Machinery regulations.
YOUR BACKGROUND:
The bullseye is you are currently or have previously designed industrial ovens and ancillary equipment (proving and cooling equipment) for the food industry and have worked as a Senior Engineer / Lead Engineer or Project Engineer. We're happy to consider any mechanical design engineering background within process equipment, special purpose machinery, conveyors, materials handling into the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetics or distribution sectors or similar etc. You might even be working within the PPMA, BARA or Automate UK.
You will also have some (maybe all) of the following:
- Project planning and scheduling of jobs and working to deadlines.
- Customer facing and internal stakeholder experience.
- Sheet metal, structural framework, and machining experience preferable.
- Ducting/HVAC, Pneumatics, steam, and drive systems knowledge.
- Appreciation of machine safety/standards and drawing/tolerance standards required.
- 3D CAD SolidWorks/Inventor experience is ideal, experience of another similar 3D package will be considered.
- 2D experience in AutoCAD for layout work.
- Ability to do advanced engineering calculations and use Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in FEA and CFD simulation.
- Experience of thermal machinery.
You will likely be educated to a B.Eng / HND / HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
