Vacancy Brief:
- The role is that of a Homelessness Support officer.
- This is a permanent full-time vacancy, 37 hours per week.
- Salary for this job role is £33,000 - £34,314.00.
- Based in Bristol.
- Monday to Friday working between 9am - 5pm.
- Hybrid working will be offered after 3 months.
- Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is preferable.
- A current Enhanced DBS for children and adults will be required for this job role.
The Responsibilities:
- As a Homelessness Support officer, you will be required to support individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
- An integral part of your role as a Homelessness Support officer, you will investigate & assess applications from single people & families that present to the service as homeless or at risk of homelessness to decide on and fulfil the organisation’s statutory duties.
- In your role as a Homelessness Support officer, you will co-ordinate and proactively manage a caseload of citizens in housing need and work with them to resolve their housing difficulties, including those that may have complex needs and referring to appropriate services where necessary.
- Part of your role as a Homelessness Support officer will be to promote a range of housing initiatives/options to prevent & relieve homelessness, and for homeless households, consider alternative options to the use of temporary accommodation.
- Furthermore, you will secure appropriate accommodation & support services for citizens in housing need.
