Client snapshot: An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client, an established housing provider in the UK. My client has a large portfolio of supported living projects and offers generic housing management and supported housing services.

Vacancy Brief:

  • The role is that of a Homelessness Support officer.
  • This is a permanent full-time vacancy, 37 hours per week.
  • Salary for this job role is £33,000 - £34,314.00.
  • Based in Bristol.
  • Monday to Friday working between 9am - 5pm.
  • Hybrid working will be offered after 3 months.
  • Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is preferable.
  • A current Enhanced DBS for children and adults will be required for this job role.

The Responsibilities:

  • As a Homelessness Support officer, you will be required to support individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
  • An integral part of your role as a Homelessness Support officer, you will investigate & assess applications from single people & families that present to the service as homeless or at risk of homelessness to decide on and fulfil the organisation’s statutory duties.
  • In your role as a Homelessness Support officer, you will co-ordinate and proactively manage a caseload of citizens in housing need and work with them to resolve their housing difficulties, including those that may have complex needs and referring to appropriate services where necessary.
  • Part of your role as a Homelessness Support officer will be to promote a range of housing initiatives/options to prevent & relieve homelessness, and for homeless households, consider alternative options to the use of temporary accommodation.
  • Furthermore, you will secure appropriate accommodation & support services for citizens in housing need.
