Job Title: Fitter- Compressed Gases Salary: Negotiable Location: Stansted, Essex Aeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Fitter- Compressed Gases, to be based at their site in Stansted. The successful candidate would be expected to be on site 5 days per week. Established more than 60 years ago, the company employ more than 21,000 employees in 35 different countries. They are a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets. As a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices they offer specialised services for more than 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment’s. This role is working a 39 hour week. Hours of work are Monday- Thursday: 8am- 4.30pm and Friday: 8am- 4pm. Main Responsibilities: * To repair, test and overhaul valve & cylinder assemblies and undertake hydrostatic testing of cylinders and charging of complete assemblies (up to 4500 PSI) * Strip down of valve assemblies * Replace standard spares as part of the overhaul process * Inspect individual parts and replace defective items. * Thorough clean of components * Build-up valve assemblies ready for testing on various flow rigs * Hydrostatic testing of cylinders in accordance with Department of Transport requirements * Re-assembly of the valve and cylinder components * Charge the complete assemblies to pressures of up to 4500 PSI * Provide ad hoc support, as required, to the safety inflatable team Benefits: * Basic salary negotiable * 25 days Annual Leave + Bank holidays * Early Finish on Friday * Overtime when work allows. * Free onsite parking * Life Assurance x 4 salary * Doubled pension contribution (3-6%) * Monthly Wellness Breakfast * Overtime available at 1.5/ 2 x normal rate About You: * Prior working experience of interpreting and following in detail compliance manuals (essential) * Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English * Ability to work well in multi-discipline/cross-functional teams * Working within a small team of skilled technicians, reliability, flexibility and team work are key skill requirements. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships * Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail * Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and multi task whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations. * Strong communicator (written and verbal) * Positive, enthusiastic, confident and motivated About Aeropeople: Whether you’re looking for your next job or searching out the next superstar to join your team… Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
