We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teacher to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of students in Key Stage 5 (KS5).

The Role:

As an SEN Teacher for KS5, you will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons to students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. You will work closely with other educators, therapists, and support staff to create individualised learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student. Your role will be integral in ensuring that all students receive a high standard of education, are motivated, and feel supported in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons to students in Key Stage 5 with a range of SEN needs.
  • Support the development of students’ academic, social, and emotional skills.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing feedback and support as necessary.
  • Build positive relationships with students, encouraging independence and self-esteem.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress.
  • Engage in professional development to continually improve teaching practices.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching in an SEN setting.
  • Experience working with Key Stage 5 students with SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and emotional/behavioural needs.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to helping all students succeed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs.
