Our client based in Portlethen are looking for a Machinist to join their team on a Staff basis.

Duties include:

  • Drill Strings and Tubulars: Manufacture and supply of drill pipes, collars, and other tubular components.
  • Wellbore Integrity Inspection and Repair: Comprehensive services to ensure the integrity and performance of tubular equipment.
  • Wellbore Integrity Hardbanding and Welding: Advanced techniques to enhance the durability and lifespan of drilling tools.
  • Drill Pipes: Manufactured to industry standards (API and premium grades), available in a range of sizes and connection types. Designed for high strength, fatigue resistance, and durability.
  • Heavy Weight Drill Pipe (HWDP): Used to transition between drill collars and standard drill pipe, providing enhanced weight and flexibility in the drill string.
  • Drill Collars: Thick-walled tubulars that provide weight on bit (WOB) while maintaining directional control and minimizing vibration.
  • Non-Magnetic Collars: Used for Measurement While Drilling (MWD) and Logging While Drilling (LWD) applications to prevent magnetic interference.
  • Subs and Crossovers: Custom-engineered components that connect different drill string elements or enable tool compatibility.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in a machine shop environment.
  • Operate machine tools and perform threading operations under standard conditions.
  • Interpret product drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of IMTE (Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment).
