About Our Client
Pen Heaven is a leading online retailer of personalised pens, leather accessories and stationery gifts. We have a market leading position in the UK, with a significant and growing presence abroad (predominantly USA, Canada, Australia).
Job Description Duties:
- Ensure all accounting records are accurate and kept up to date including:
- Bank reconciliations with online payment gateways
- Credit card statements
- Journal entries for any required adjustments e.g. credit notes, refunds, rebates
- End of month supplier payrun, including reconciliation of supplier statements and invoices
- Payroll
- Aged creditors report, and follow up on overdue amounts
- Monthly management accounts, including reports on channel performance, to be communicated to managing director
- Bi-weekly low margin report on a SKU by SKU basis
- Prepare quarterly VAT return
- Work with external accountants to prepare year end accounts and tax returns
- Work with accounting software developers to ensure accuracy and completeness of records
The Successful Applicant Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience
- Responsibility for overall bookkeeping function for minimum of 2 years
- Highly experienced with accounting software systems
- Attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable
Preferrable Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Navision
- Understanding of online retail operations
