The Balance Sheet Projects Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects related to the balance sheet, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and driving improvements in the Group’s Balance Sheet processes, including improving the automation, reliability, efficiency and controls over the Group’s balance sheet reconciliations and reviews. This role requires strong analytical skills, project management expertise, a deep understanding of financial statements and an ability to partner across functions within Finance and the technology teams. This role is being hired as a 12 month fixed term contract and work on a hybrid model of 3 days per week in our London office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage balance sheet-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, treasury, and financial planning, to gather requirements and ensure project success.
- Analyse balance sheet accounts to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines.
- Prepare and present project updates, reports, and findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met.
- Provide training and support to team members on balance sheet management and project methodologies.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and advancements to enhance balance sheet management practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management, with a focus on balance sheet analysis and project management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience using project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
