We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer to join our team at our Workington Mill. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary and become part of our welcoming team. Holmen Board and Paper is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients' customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.

About the role:
A vacancy has arisen for a Production Engineer – BM/C&C in the Production area. The successful candidate will proactively identify and lead on all development activities, including process improvements and capital investments in order to drive up quality, efficiency and volume in line with area KPIs and the Holmen Core Values.
Our Production Engineer will be responsible for:
- Driving health and safety, environmental and food safety improvements across all shifts.
- Proactively identify and lead on process improvement and development projects to increase product quality and operational efficiency.
- Monitoring and reporting area KPI's and 4-Fielders.
- Developing and prioritising the capital investment plan.
- Leading and contributing to capital investment projects.
- Be a key link to area engineering activities.
- Proactively identifying and leading on trouble-shooting and problem solving activities (RCA).
- Be the area representative on cross-functional project groups and report into cross-functional meetings.
- Be involved in customer and quality related improvements and problem-solving activities (RCA).
- Developing improved ways of working and lead on adoption of best practices across shift and day teams.
- Supporting/mentoring Production shift staff to develop competence and skills.
What we're looking for in our Production Engineer:
- Possess an excellent knowledge of the pulp and papermaking processes.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The following are also desired:
- Degree level education in a relevant engineering/science or papermaking discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Appropriate training in Health & Safety.
- A proactive approach to improvement activities.
