Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit a Teacher in English (Foundation department) on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,372 to £39,198 per annum.

The Teacher in English Role:
As our Teacher in English, you will be part of the cross-college English and maths team responsible for delivering GCSE English to the predominantly 16-18 cohort. All the students are retaking their English GCSE alongside their main Study Programme. A small number of students will take Functional Skills qualifications instead. You will be working predominantly with students in the Foundation department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods.
- Ensuring that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
- Providing academic support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Creating an outstanding student experience which leads to the successful completion of a GCSE and Functional Skills qualification.
- Managing student issues within agreed protocols.
- Undertaking such other reasonable duties as the line manager may require from time to time and review this Job Description annually with the line manager.
- Participating in the College's appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking educational leader who:
- Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths.
- Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
- Relevant L3 English Qualification.
- Experience of facilitating GCSE English learning for students in a Further Education or an appropriate educational setting.
- Knowledge of the content of GCSE English Language.
