Are you a meticulous and proactive Finance Manager with extensive experience in the construction industry? Do you enjoy working in a hands-on role where you can take ownership of financial operations, ensure accuracy in reporting, and contribute to the success of a growing business? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking residential construction business, based in Stourbridge.
In this varied and pivotal Finance Manager role, you will support the Managing Director in overseeing the full finance function, ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of monthly management accounts and all associated reporting. You will be responsible for key accounting processes including month-end reporting, forecasting, processing of sales and purchase ledger functions, and reconciling bank and supplier statements. You will play a central role in preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns, managing WIP calculations, and liaising with external accountants on financial adjustments and audits.
With a strong understanding of the construction industry, you will confidently handle the day-to-day transactional recording, including journals, sales invoicing, purchase orders, and staff expenses. You will also oversee HMRC payments and contribute to financial planning through accurate forecasting and system updates. A sound knowledge of the Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) is essential, and experience using COINS software is required to hit the ground running.
To succeed in this Finance Manager role, you will have at least four years of experience within the construction sector, excellent attention to detail, and a flexible, can-do attitude. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and databases, will be essential to support reporting and data analysis requirements.
