Our client is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Private Client team, working closely with the Director and Head of Department. This is a varied role that calls for someone highly organised, confident juggling multiple tasks, and comfortable communicating clearly—whether in writing or face to face. You'll also be happy to step in and support your colleagues when needed, whether that's covering for another secretary or helping out on reception from time to time. Above all, they're looking for someone dependable, punctual, and ready to be a valued part of the team.
The role is open to candidates seeking either full-time hours or a part-time arrangement of three days per week.

What will be expected of you?
- Preparing correspondence and legal documents, including Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, using audio typing and word processing.
- Opening, closing, storing, and retrieving files from the archive in line with the Firm’s procedures.
- Managing files, including the daily filing of client matters.
- Preparing outgoing post and enclosures for dispatch.
- Carrying out photocopying or arranging for copies to be made as required.
- Managing diaries, including scheduling and rescheduling meetings, setting reminders for key dates, and maintaining prompts to support excellent client care and the smooth progression of matters.
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, the Probate Office, banks, and other third parties as directed by the Fee Earners.
- Providing assistance to other secretaries when needed and where capacity allows.
- Answering incoming calls professionally, transferring them to the appropriate person, or taking clear and detailed messages.
- Carrying out other secretarial and administrative duties as required by the Head of Department.
