This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You’ll join your colleagues in your local office at least 2 days a week. As an IP Capacity Planner, you will be accountable for planning and delivering our active service portfolio, including system and network administration, and project management. You will work closely with Network Architects and Engineers to optimise network performance and ensure operational excellence. This role is crucial for driving a lean operating model through automation and AI.
You’ll receive a salary of up to £65,000, a performance-related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.
This is some of what you can expect to be doing:
- Model and monitor new active city networks
- Identify and augment the existing network as required
- Deliver short, medium, and long-term forecasts for all network components
- Incrementally improve network capacity monitoring and operational excellence using automation and AI
- Work with vendors to secure a repeatable supply chain
What you’ll bring to the role:
- You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent analytics and mathematical skills, and well-developed troubleshooting methodologies.
- You’ll also have:
- Experience with network troubleshooting and telemetry tools
- Familiarity with virtualisation platforms, particularly QEMU (Quick Emulator) / KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine)
- Programming skills in Perl, Rest, Shell, or Python
- Good understanding of layer 2 & 3 technologies with an emphasis on Ethernet
- Excellent understanding of platform monitoring and analytics tools
