British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreter for Events Part Time, Casual hours circa 28 hours per annum Hourly paid, £27 .05 per hour Burton on Trent, Town Centre CampusConfirmed 2025 Events Requiring Interpreter Support: Friday, 24th October 2025: BSDC Graduation, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (5 hours) Open days are usually held October, January, March and April (2-3 hours, Evenings/Saturdays) You could be required to feature in video content for staff training and social media updates.Who are we looking for?We are seeking a Casual British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreter to provide professional interpreting services during scheduled events, including set open events and award ceremonies, and offer support to learners as required. The role will involve interpreting spoken English to British Sign Language, ensuring accessibility and effective communication for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will be part of a supportive team, ensuring an inclusive environment for all attendees and learners.This post requires a Level 6 British Sign Language qualification, evidence is required upon job offer.Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths.
