RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT – THE ROLE

This is a sales role, where you will be sourcing top talent for clients across your area of expertise. The role requires cold calling to bring on new clients, and you will need to sell your services, competing against other Recruitment agencies in the industry. Once a client decides they would like to work with you, you will discover what they need in a candidate, and use advertising, headhunting and networking to find the perfect candidate for the position. Selling your services to the candidate will be essential, as it is likely they will have been approached by other recruitment consultants – why are you the best person to help them find their next role? Liaising with both candidates and clients, you will find the most suitable time slot for the interview. To ensure your candidate aces the interview, you will prepare them, so they feel confident in telling their story and demonstrating their skillset in the best way possible. Guiding your candidate and client through the process, hopefully you will secure your candidate their dream role and secure your client with the top talent for the role. You will have targets to reach by securing deals and you will earn commission from this. It is a competitive role, so having a driven mindset is crucial.

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT – THE SKILLS

This is an entry-level role, meaning you are not required to have any prior experience (although if you have experience, we are very keen to hear from you!). You will receive training from successful Recruiters with years of experience behind them, meaning you will learn the best techniques to succeed in the industry. However, there are skills you will need to bring to the table to truly become the best Recruitment Consultant:

  • Resilience – you will face a lot of rejection, but can you see the end goal?
  • Financial drive – why do you want to have control of your earnings? Do you want your first Rolex? A brand-new car? Your first property?
  • A willing mentality – where can you demonstrate your competitive nature?
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confidence to pick up the phone and to meet clients/candidates in person

Whilst the job role does not require Recruitment experience, you will need to be either a graduate or someone with 1+ years B2B sales experience (both is ideal!). A sporting background is favoured as there are many transferable skills.

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT – THE REWARDS

The world of Recruitment is tough. You will be working long hours and handling rejection daily. There will need to be serious hard work to see results. However, this doesn’t go unnoticed. The industry is hugely rewarding, not only with uncapped commission, but incentives and great benefits as well. A few examples of these are as follows:

  • Holiday incentives across the world (all expenses paid)
  • Monthly lunch clubs for the top billers (dining at the top restaurants in London)
  • Ski trips
  • Gym memberships
  • Early finish Fridays
  • Christmas/summer parties
  • Annual awards

Each company will offer different incentives and benefits to care for their employees. To find out more about the role of a Recruitment Consultant and the opportunities we have available, send through your CV today.
