The Role
Our client is looking for a Junior to Mid-Level Pre-Construction / Estimator to join their growing London team. This is a great opportunity for someone with some experience in estimating or pre-construction within the fit-out or workplace sector, who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. You will play a key role in supporting and managing the pre-construction process, working closely with senior estimators, project managers, and the supply chain to deliver accurate and competitive tenders.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing take-offs from drawings and specifications to support subcontractor tender packs
- Preparing and creating detailed Bills of Quantities
- Liaising with the supply chain to obtain quotations and negotiate pricing
- Analysing subcontractor bids and supplier quotes
- Working to deadlines to ensure timely completion of tender submissions
- Supporting the development of cost proposals for clients
- Taking ownership of smaller projects and assisting on larger tenders (£500k +)
Skills & Experience Required
- Some experience in estimating or pre-construction within fit-out, workplace, or construction sectors
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX) is beneficial
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage deadlines
- A keen interest in the workplace design & build sector
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
