Position: Full-Time English Teacher (KS3, KS4 & KS5)

About the Role:

TimePlan Education are seeking passionate, flexible, and qualified English Teachers to join a number of secondary schools across London for the upcoming summer term, starting in April 2025. These are exciting full-time opportunities to teach English to Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students. You will have the chance to work within a supportive and cooperative environment, and contribute to the academic growth and personal development of students.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across different age groups and academic levels, and there is potential for the role to continue from September 2025. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to students in Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
  • Ensure that students receive effective and stimulating instruction that meets the requirements of the national curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Design and implement creative and thought-provoking lesson plans to encourage critical thinking and independent learning.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress regularly, using data to inform teaching practices and interventions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and develop schemes of work and resources.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, particularly in preparation for exams and assessments at Key Stage 4 and 5.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Attend and contribute to regular departmental and whole-school meetings, including professional development sessions.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification (essential).
  • Experience teaching English across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 is desirable, but newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English education.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of varying abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting high standards of student achievement.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo a new check).
