CEN Resources are working in partnership with a well-known business who are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for operations based in the North West of England. Our client is an Engineering and Projects Delivery business specialising in the design, installation, management and consultancy of bulk material handling systems across a number of sectors, with specific expertise in tunnelling, aggregates and ports.
You will report to the Group Head of Electrical Engineering and be responsible for the integrity and delivery of the electrical engineering and technical elements of work focusing on the execution of the electrical engineering tasks, ensuring the scope is well defined, controlled, understood, and aligned with the deliverables and safety requirements. You will also work closely with the engineers across the business (technical, process, design and project) as well as other functional managers and subcontractors to progress these deliverables and manage/support any queries that may arise. The successful applicant will be supported with personalised on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development reviews.
Responsibilities- Work closely with other engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, and project) as well as other functional managers and subcontractors to progress these deliverables and manage/support any queries that may arise.
- Lead other electrical engineers whilst leading from the front in carrying out detailed design, specification and procurement of electrical and control systems.
- Support proposals/bids with concept design, component requirements, load schedules and engineering time estimations.
- Review scope, contract, electrical engineering schedules, and client specifications upon handover of the project and execute these deliverables during the life cycle of the project.
- Highlight technical risk and manage this with support from the project, design & electrical engineering teams.
- Prepare subcontract scope of work documents, raise purchase requisitions and manage subcontracted design.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of mechanical processes and the application of process design.
- Experience with assessment, design and selection of electrical distribution, control and protection schemes.
- Have knowledge of current legislative requirements and standards including the IET Wiring Regulations latest edition.
- Have an understanding of CE/UKCA regulations including design risk assessments.
- Be able to participate and contribute to client meetings.
- Have experience in value engineering processes and continuous improvement.
- Have an appreciation of ATEX regulations, and effect on process design and equipment selection.
