Construction & Civils Solutions Ltd are seeking a talented Estimator with a Civils or Building background on behalf of a client of ours. Our client is based in South Lanarkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and negotiate tender submissions for Civil/Building projects
  • Review incoming tenders and assess contract potential
  • Conduct measurement and quantity take-off from drawings
  • Produce Bills of Quantities
  • Source pre-project information and assess subcontractor quotations, agreements, and enquiries
  • Build tender pricing from first principles based on scope, plans, specifications, and programme
  • Cost planning and preparation of tender reports for adjudication
  • Attend pre- and post-contract interviews and client meetings
  • Obtain and circulate feedback on submitted bids
  • Investigate cost-effective and alternative solutions
  • Input data into estimating software
  • Maintain awareness of latest estimating techniques and industry standards
  • Carry out other related duties as needed

Required Experience:

  • Ideally 5+ years of proven estimating experience in Civils or Main Contracting
  • HNC or degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
  • Familiarity with various Forms of Contract, including JCT and NEC, and methods of measurement like SMM7 and NRM2
  • Experience in Design & Build as well as traditional construction methods
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or other project planning software
  • Knowledge of estimating software
  • Site experience is an advantage
