The Director of Energy Transition will provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of a sustainable energy strategy for each of Encirc's 3 sites. The post holder will lead and support the technical teams at Encirc and Vidrala, this role is pivotal in transitioning energy systems towards renewable and low-carbon alternatives, ensuring the optimisation of energy options, securing funding, and navigating government policies and regulations.
Key Requirements
- Possess a degree in an engineering or a similar related discipline with direct links to the needs of the position
- Over 10 years demonstrable expertise in the field of circular economy, energy and wider sustainability issues
- Proven track record of working in complex policy arenas both in development and implementation
- A proven ability to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of audience, both technical and non-technical, political and community based
- Ability to articulate glass and beverage industry issues
- Senior management experience of working with trade associations/industry representatives/customers
- Knowledge of long-term sustainable business development objectives
- An acute awareness of legislation and political activities that could impact Encirc business operations with respect to energy and glass manufacturing
- A demonstrable proven ability to interact with political bodies to lobby for the benefits of the business and industry
- Strategic thinker with a strong focus on results and long-term sustainability
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment
- Highly collaborative with a focus on building effective cross-functional teams
