Cleaner x 4 Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Salary: £24,309 pro rata, per annum (£12.60 per hour inclusive of Real Living Wage) Hours: * 2 x 20 hours per week – 2:30pm – 6:30pm Monday to Friday * 1 x 10 hours per week – 06:30am – 08:30am Monday to Friday * 1 x 17.50 hours per week – 3:00pm – 6:30pm Monday to Friday Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services. They have a large team of Cleaners, Cleaner Supervisors, Facility Supervisors (Caretakers), Catering Assistants, Assistant Chefs and Chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings. Their service is committed to delivering a high standard of service to their customers and in doing so investing in their staff and staff development. The Role Working as a team and using your own initiative, daily duties will involve cleaning designated areas such as corridors, classrooms, offices and toilet areas using required equipment. Whilst working to fixed deadlines, responsibilities include emptying bins, mopping and vacuuming floors, so regular stooping, bending and lifting will be required. To carry out these tasks, candidates will need to have a basic understanding of both written and spoken English due to the use of chemicals. They are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful, they will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and they will check the barred list(s).
