We’re seeking an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a landmark luxury residential development in Central London. This pivotal role involves providing strategic commercial leadership, ensuring robust financial management, and supporting the wider commercial team to deliver a high-profile heritage transformation to the highest standards.
The Project Located just moments from Victoria Station, this £92m development is set within a stunning Grade I and II listed estate. The scheme will sensitively convert historic buildings into 42 ultra-prime residential apartments across three distinct blocks. A rooftop extension will house an exclusive penthouse, while a luxury wellness suite—including a gym, spa, and underground swimming pool—adds to the project’s prestige. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in one of London’s most exciting and technically challenging residential conversions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Take full commercial responsibility for the project, ensuring financial targets are achieved and exceeded.
- Lead procurement strategies for subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, ensuring robust contractual documentation and value for money.
- Oversee accurate and timely cost reporting, CVRs, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Advise directors and project teams on commercial, progress, and contractual matters.
- Ensure interim valuations, variations, final accounts, and payments are administered professionally and in line with contract terms.
- Champion commercial risk management and ensure disputes are addressed proactively.
- Foster a high-performance culture within the commercial team through leadership, mentoring, and technical support.
We’re Looking For:
- BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- MRICS or working towards chartered status
- Proven track record in high-value residential or heritage projects
- Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and presentation skills
- Proficient in CVR reporting and cost planning
- Familiar with ASTA PowerProjects or MS Project 2013/2016
- A confident communicator, capable of working with multiple stakeholders across design and delivery teams
