An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E bias to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor at their regional office in Chorleywood. The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in the commercial management of M&E packages across a range of large-scale developments. Working closely with both the internal project teams and specialist subcontractors, you’ll ensure that costs are effectively managed and contractual obligations are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages from tender to final account
- Subcontract procurement, payment applications, and variation management
- Work alongside delivery and design teams to support accurate cost control and value engineering
- Liaise with clients and supply chain partners to ensure performance and compliance
- Produce detailed cost reports, forecasts, and CVRs for senior management
- Support in resolving commercial and contractual disputes
Requirements
- Proven experience working for a main contractor, ideally Tier 1
- Strong background in M&E or having commercially managed MEP packages on major projects
- Excellent understanding of NEC or JCT contracts
- Confident in subcontract management and commercial reporting
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
