An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E bias to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor at their regional office in Chorleywood. The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in the commercial management of M&E packages across a range of large-scale developments. Working closely with both the internal project teams and specialist subcontractors, you’ll ensure that costs are effectively managed and contractual obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages from tender to final account
  • Subcontract procurement, payment applications, and variation management
  • Work alongside delivery and design teams to support accurate cost control and value engineering
  • Liaise with clients and supply chain partners to ensure performance and compliance
  • Produce detailed cost reports, forecasts, and CVRs for senior management
  • Support in resolving commercial and contractual disputes

Requirements

  • Proven experience working for a main contractor, ideally Tier 1
  • Strong background in M&E or having commercially managed MEP packages on major projects
  • Excellent understanding of NEC or JCT contracts
  • Confident in subcontract management and commercial reporting
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
