Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 p/a

Location: Basingstoke

Working Hours: Flexible working hours: 40-hour workweek, early Friday finish at 3:30 PM (standard hours: 8:15 AM - 5:00 PM with a 45-minute lunch break).

The Calibration Technician Role: As a Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for testing, adjusting, and maintaining instruments to ensure they meet required standards. Working within a specialized calibration laboratory, you will handle both mechanical and electrical equipment. While calibration will be your primary focus, you may also perform minor repairs when necessary. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow established calibration procedures. You will work closely with a team of professionals, ensuring that all instruments are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Calibration Technician:

  • Performing calibrations on various mechanical and electrical instruments, including pressure measurement devices.
  • Ensuring all instruments remain within calibration standards.
  • Using bespoke calibration software to conduct and document calibrations.
  • Carrying out minor repairs on faulty instruments where possible (e.g., leaks in valves or power supply issues).
  • Working with dedicated software to analyse calibration data.

Ideal Experience for the Calibration Technician:

  • Calibration experience in any discipline (mechanical or electrical).
  • Knowledge of slip gauges, verniers, DVMs, or multimeters is beneficial.
  • Comfortable using computers, including Word and Excel.
