About the Role - We are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal level Engineer - Marine to join the Newcastle Upon Tyne Office. We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual who has extensive expertise in Marine Engineering. The successful candidate will have an unparalleled opportunity to work directly with, and support, the Office Partners in the delivery of a varied portfolio of civil engineering works in the marine environment.
- Play a senior role in the design and assessment of marine structures.
- Review designs and drawings completed by team members or other parties for compliance with design standards, best practice guidance, contractual obligations and client expectations, ensuring that quality and consistency of technical output is maintained.
- Liaison with statutory bodies and provision of support, mentoring and guidance to developing team members.
- Liaise in a professional manner with colleagues, clients, contractors and other designers and offer advice and guidance on matters relating to their work.
- Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages.
- Attend design meetings, site meetings and carry out site inspections.
- Support the Office Partners in business development through client liaison, networking and preparation of bids and proposals to sustain and grow a strong client base.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or masters level qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline.
- Extensive post-graduation experience.
- Relevant experience of civil engineering problem solving and development of sound engineering solutions.
- Excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills.
- A track record of developing and maintaining relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- A flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure.
- Technically competent in the field of civil engineering.
- Full clean driving license.
