About the role: The Machinist is a strong team member competent to carry out any required Machining tasks on various components in addition to assisting with the general overhaul / repair processes. They have a good work ethic and are willing to lead and take initiative when required.
Primary responsibilities:
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
- Manual machining of various components in accordance with the manufacturer’s and Score drawings and procedures.
- Setting, operating and programming CNC machines using Fanuc controls.
- Operating manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinders and EDM machines.
- Produce components to fine tolerances from engineering drawings/sketches.
- Dimensional inspection / analysis of fuel nozzles and associated components.
- Experience working with exotic materials.
- Etching and de-burring components appropriately.
- Provide Technical support to other team members and or departments when required.
- Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Shall be responsible for the quality of their own work.
- Responsible for ensuring other personnel / apprentices are working in a safe manner.
- Participate in Nightshift Working and or working late (weekends) when required.
- Reporting any plant / equipment damage.
- Participate in any Toolbox Talks / Risk Assessments.
- Maintenance & Repair of all Workshop Equipment required for processing fuel nozzles and manufactured components.
- Identify and report quality related issues to machine shop supervisor.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
- Mechanical SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
Experience:
- Be fully competent to carry out all Machining Tasks.
- Good Problem solving and Analytical behaviour.
- Experience of various types of Machine work.
