The predicted salary is between 27426 - 27426 £ per year.

The purpose of the job is to provide a targeted service working with pupils and their families which address specific issues e.g. physical and mental health, attendance, family circumstances etc. that may hinder or disrupt a pupil’s learning. The post holder will receive referrals and, under the guidance of the nominated line manager, be expected to act on their own initiative to follow up issues with the pupil/family involved and to provide appropriate support. The post holder will be expected to initiate contact and work with other agencies as appropriate as well as within a number of schools as needed.

Responsibilities

  • To participate in the assessment of needs of pupils and families who are identified through an agreed referral process.
  • To develop and deliver programmes of support for pupils and families based on assessed needs.
  • To implement an agreed monitoring and evaluation procedure that will inform future service development.

The Individual

  • Experience of working with children, young people and/or families.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Experience of assessment.
  • 4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including English and Maths.
  • Effective recording skills.
  • Ability to work with challenging young people and vulnerable young adults.
  • A working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet Explorer.
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to implementing equality of opportunity in all areas of work.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and respond appropriately within sensitive work environments.
  • Self confident and self motivated.
  • Knowledge of child development and childcare.
  • Ability to participate in/contribute to assessments and the development of care plans.
  • Ability to work with small groups or on a one to one basis.
  • Commitment to undertake training/staff development as relevant to the post.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.

Ability to work in an open plan office (if applicable). Ability to work in a range of settings from homes/schools/community buildings to detached work. Ability to work in different offices dependant on service requirements.

Temporary appointment until 2 July 2026. Closing Date: 18 April 2025. Starting Salary: £27,426.75 (pro rata) £14.55 per hour, 11.25 hours per week (timetable negotiable, term time only).
