As Management Accountant you’ll take ownership of the company’s financial operations, reporting, and planning. You’ll be a key advisor to senior management, ensuring financial health, compliance, and efficiency while identifying opportunities for growth and cost savings. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of SME finance, ideally within the IT or service sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all day-to-day financial operations including accounting, budgeting, cash flow, and payroll
Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
Produce accurate financial reports and interpret financial data to support strategic decisions
Develop and manage budgeting processes, forecasts, and financial planning
Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors
Monitor key financial KPIs and implement cost control measures
Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring healthy working capital management
Oversee the Financial Planning Analysis and make recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce cost
Contribute to business strategy, providing financial insight to drive growth and profitability
Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems (experience with financial software like Sage, Xero, or similar desirable)
Support contract pricing and commercial negotiations with clients/vendors

Key Requirements:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
4+ years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a similar-sized SME
Experience working in or with the IT sector or service-based industries preferred
Strong financial and commercial acumen
Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
