As Management Accountant, you'll take ownership of the company's financial operations, reporting, and planning. You'll be a key advisor to senior management, ensuring financial health, compliance, and efficiency while identifying opportunities for growth and cost savings. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of SME finance, ideally within the IT or service sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all day-to-day financial operations including accounting, budgeting & forecasting
  • Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
  • Produce accurate financial reports and interpret financial data to support strategic decisions
  • Develop and manage budgeting processes, forecasts, and financial planning
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors
  • Monitor key financial KPIs and implement cost control measures
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring healthy working capital management
  • Oversee the Financial Planning Analysis and make recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Contribute to business strategy, providing financial insight to drive growth and profitability
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems (experience with financial software like Sage, Xero, or similar desirable)
  • Support contract pricing and commercial negotiations with clients/vendors

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • 4+ years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a similar-sized SME
  • Experience working in or with the IT sector or service-based industries preferred
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
