We are looking for a Cabling Installation Engineer to work as part of the installation team carrying out works detailed below to deliver customer projects at our client site based in Reading (RG7).
Core responsibilities- Network cabinet installations
- Primary and secondary containment system installations
- Installation of Cat6 or Cat6A horizontal cabling solutions
- Termination, Testing & labelling of Cat6 / Cat6A solutions
- Network switch installation
- Copper patching
- Experience of terminating copper cabling (Category 5e, category 6 etc)
- Experience of testing both fibre optic and copper cables using Fluke Testers
- Good working knowledge of current installation practices
- Experience in the installation of containment systems (both Steel and PVC)
- Knowledge of OTDR testing would be an advantage.
- Focused and able to work within a team and independently.
- Good communication skills
- Eligible for SC clearance
Working pattern: You will be working a 75-hour fortnight (over 9 days) Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:30 (both weeks), working Friday 07:30 to 14:30 (week 1), and non-working Friday off (week 2).
