Here at GXO, we are working together with B&Q and are looking for Driver Mate to join our Store to Home team in Luton (LU1 1HJ). You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an any 5 days out of 7 shift pattern, contracted to 40 hours per week, starting at 11:00. This role will require flexibility as you will be working on a 4 week rota pattern (provided in advance) including weekends.

What you will do on a typical day:
- Work as a part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on a multidrop basis - an average of 16 drops per day off-peak and 24 drops per day in peak season
- Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
- Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
- Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience of dealing with multi-drop home delivery preferred but not essential
- Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting, and pushing
- Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
- Be prepared to commute to Luton (LU1 1HJ) for the required shift pattern
