Shape A Life have partnered with a dedicated and inclusive Primary school with a thriving Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. This school pride themselves on creating an environment where every student can flourish, regardless of their learning abilities. This school are currently looking for a passionate and motivated Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their dynamic team and help support students with diverse learning needs.
Role Overview: As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils with a variety of special educational needs. Working closely with our experienced SEN team, you will assist in the delivery of tailored learning programs, provide 1:1 and small group support, and help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group support to students with special educational needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of differentiated learning activities and resources.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging students to reach their full potential.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other professionals.
- Support students in their social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
About You: We are looking for a graduate who is enthusiastic, compassionate, resilient and dedicated to supporting students with special educational needs. Ideal graduates will have:
- A degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- A genuine interest in working with students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly in an educational or support setting, would be beneficial but not essential.
